GT4 America shared-car racing guide

Two-driver GT4 racing in SRO, with Pro-Am, Silver and Am classes. A destination after Porsche or International GT experience.

Who this fits

Pirelli GT4 America is a shared-car series for drivers who want to develop within a GT4 field alongside a teammate. It is different from the single-driver GT America championship and from the GT3 GT World Challenge America program.

Porsche club, Porsche one-make and International GT experience are good preparation. IMSA Pilot Challenge is a parallel GT4 destination with different rules.

Cars and co-driving

This is GT4 racing. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is a relevant platform for drivers coming from Porsche programs. A Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car is not a GT4 car.

The regular 2026 format is a doubleheader of 60-minute races. COTA’s Lone Star Enduro is a three-hour exception. The 2026 entry lists show two drivers per car and Pro-Am, Silver and Am classes. Driver changes make shared setup, cockpit fit, handover procedures and clean laps around the stop part of preparation.

Requirements

Each driver needs the applicable SRO/USAC licensing and organizer approval. The class must match the accepted lineup under the sporting regulations. The license portal opens registration on November 15. The 2027 SRO calendar is provisional.

Rules shown are the 2026 rules.

How I help

I am lining up an SRO GT4 America co-drive from the Sonoma opener (April 2 to 4, 2027). I coach this step at the track and in the simulator, and I review your data with you. Where the class rules allow it, I can share the car with you.

Questions drivers ask

How is GT4 America different from GT America?

They are separate championships. GT4 America entries use two drivers. GT America races are single-driver sprints.

Must I complete Porsche racing first?

No. A Porsche Endurance Challenge program gives you relevant shared-car experience, and it is optional.

Can my Cup car race in this series?

No. A 911 GT3 Cup is not GT4 machinery. Check the exact eligible GT4 model and specification.
