Who this fits
GT World Challenge America is SRO’s GT3 endurance championship. It fits a driver evaluating a serious shared-car GT3 program, with the operational demands of longer races and a lineup built for the intended class. It is different from GT4 America and from GT America’s single-driver sprint format.
Compare GT4 America when the goal is shared GT4 racing. Choosing GT3 changes the car, the team operation and the preparation problem.
Cars and co-driving
The field uses GT3 machinery. Pro, Pro-Am and Am are lineup categories. The 2026 class explanation describes Pro as professional lineups, Pro-Am as a Pro-rated driver with a Bronze, and Am as primarily Bronze drivers. The sporting regulations determine whether a specific pairing is eligible.
The 2026 format has three-hour races and an eight-hour finale. SRO describes the eight-hour event as a three-driver lineup. Driver changes, consistent feedback, stint execution and a car that works for the whole roster are central to the program.
The provisional 2027 announcement continues regular three-hour races and names COTA’s Texas 8 Hour as the longer event.
