Zenith Racing Series endurance and sprint choices

Zenith Racing Series combines sprint and endurance opportunities. The 2027 plan has nine rounds, new classes and USAC driver approval.

Choose the format first

The name is Zenith Racing Series, or ZRS. The organizer describes a partnership with USAC. It fits a driver seeking a production-based team program with a choice between sprint competition and longer shared-car races. Those choices produce different learning opportunities and driving allocations.

Decide whether your goal is traffic management over a long stint, repeated race starts, or learning to operate with a team. Your current experience and available budget shape the choice of class.

Announced for 2027

ZRS has announced a nine-round plan with a sprint cup and endurance racing at each event. Announced formats include 12-hour races, a 13-hour Sebring race, and weekends with two six-hour races. Some dates and venues remain TBA.

The new ZP1 and ZR1 classes target approximately 6.0 and 7.5 pounds per horsepower alongside ZP2, ZR2, ZR3 and ZR4. Send the organizer the exact platform, engine, weight, power evidence, tires and preparation.

Co-driving and driver approval

ZRS says multiple drivers may share one car and teams may enter endurance, sprint, or both. Ask the team for the event-specific lineup, sessions, stint plan and contingencies.

Drivers apply through USAC with a racing résumé, with review by ZRS and USAC. Approval is decided for each season.

Prepare the team operation

Ask who owns class compliance and who approves setup changes. Check seat fit for every driver, practice emergency egress and driver changes, and agree on radio language for faster and slower traffic. Plan endurance fuel separately from sprint preparation, using the event’s pit and fueling rules.

Before paying, get a written account of included practice, race allocation, tires, fuel, coaching, transport and damage liability. Define what happens if the car fails before your stint or an event changes.

How I help

I coach this step at the track and in the simulator, and I review your video and data with you, focused on repeatability and team decisions. Where the class rules allow it, I can share the car with you. If competitive traffic is new, club racing preparation comes first. Compare AER by approval process and event format.

Questions before applying

Are the new class ratios final car eligibility?

The ratios describe the class direction. Final technical rules, declarations and organizer approval resolve your car.

Can I enter with any existing race license?

Submit your credentials and résumé through the ZRS and USAC process.

Does ZRS lead to Super Trofeo?

Super Trofeo has its own licensing, rating, lineup, team and entry process.
