A lineup that needs a Bronze needs one who brings pace, clean driver changes and useful data. I am an FIA Bronze. I race as the Bronze in Pro-Am, Am and all-Bronze lineups, and I coach the driver who shares the car with me.
What do I bring to stint planning?
A long race is decided in the plan before the green flag. I agree the stint order, the length of each stint and who finishes with you and your team. At Road Atlanta in 2026 we alternated drivers at each stop. I took the final stint, and we won the Cayman Am class. Read the Road Atlanta story.
How do we practice driver changes?
A driver change costs the car time in the pits. We rehearse it before the weekend. We agree who makes the call, who does what, and what the next driver needs to hear.
How do I handle fuel and tires?
I keep a fuel and tire note for every stint. I pass it to the next driver with what the car did and what to expect. The note is short and plain, so a tired driver can use it.
How do we share data?
I work the data with your engineers, from whatever system your team uses. I show you your own video and data beside mine. Machine Nerve, the software I build, is there if it helps. It is never required.
How do I work with an Am co-driver?
I start from your goals and your experience. I coach at the track and in the simulator. The aim is a lineup that stays consistent for the whole race, so your stints count as much as mine.
Which rules matter?
Many classes need a Bronze in the car. GT4 America Am and the Pilot Challenge GS Bronze Cup run Bronze drivers. See what the ratings mean. Each series sets its own rules, so check the one for your class.
